Guided sessions
Think it through, then keep the page
Each guided session teaches one method from research on judgment and communication, then walks you through using the method on something you are working on now. The session asks one question at a time and gives you an example when you need one. You finish with a page you can print, save as a PDF or paste into an email.

When you need a yes from a busy person
The One-Page Brief
Learn the Pyramid Principle and the research on why readers miss the point. Write a brief that puts your request in the first sentence.
When you have a decision to make
The Decision Record
Learn why memory rewrites a decision once the outcome is known. Record the options, your confidence and what would change your mind, with a date to review.
When you are about to start a project
The Pre-mortem
Imagine the plan has already failed and explain why. Rate the risks and give each serious one a warning sign and an owner.
When you are about to negotiate a price
The Negotiation Prep Sheet
Learn why your strength comes from your best alternative and why the first number matters. Set your walk-away price, target and first offer, and find the terms you can trade.
How a session works
Six parts, one page
- Start with your situation. The first question names the real thing you are working on, and later questions refer back to your answer.
- Guess first. Each session opens with a question about a real study, so you meet the research as the answer to something you predicted.
- Learn the method. A few short screens explain the method, where the method comes from and how the method looks in use.
- Answer one question at a time. Each question says why it is asked and offers an example. A diagram fills in as you write.
- Check your work. The session reads back what you wrote and points out what to strengthen.
- Keep the page. Print the result, save it as a PDF, copy it as text or download it.
Your answers are saved in this browser only, so you can close a session and come back. Nothing you write is sent to 10x Technologies.
